¡¡¡¡Institute of Facility Agriculture is the earliest institute engaged in the research of agricultural engineering technology. Its main professional work includes: Research, planning and promoting of the environmental controlling technolgy and the related equipment in protected cultivation; Research and promoting of animal husbandry engineering technology and related equipment; Development planning and consultation of the construction project of animal husbandry engineering; Research and promoting of water-saving agricultural technology; Research and formulation of the construction standards and design criteria for protected horticultural and animal husbandry engineering; Carrying out international exchange and cooperation in agricultural technology. The institute originated and operated the"Chinagreenhoue Internet".

During the past years,the institute has taken charge of many projects and finished with great achievements: undertaking 16 important and key research projects from the ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Science & Technology, formulating 10 construction standards and design criteria for greenhouse, livestock and poultry building, as well as about 150 designs of greenhouse and animal husbandry engineering, as about 50 consultations for protected agricultural engineering projects, 20 designs of high-tech gardens and 20 designs of fruit-storing rooms. The institute has developed series of products suitable for protected agricultural production, such as solar greenhouse, gutter-connected PC-sheet greenhouse, climatron, assembly livestock and poultry house, etc.

¡¡¡¡The institute is active in the international cooperation.It has established long and solid cooperation reationship with research institutes and companies from Sweden, Holland, Israel, USA, Japan, Denmark, England,etc.

¡¡¡¡The institute consists of 20 staff members, among which there are 2 professors and 6 senior engineers. The staff also includes 2 members with Ph.D and 5 with Master's Degree.
